Blog Post #5
I find that YouTube is a useful tool especially for those who are visual learners. For me personally, I find it easier and faster to grasp a concept when I can see it in action. This can help teachers teach students who are more visually stimulated and gives a variety of videos to show students on many subjects.
Prezi is an interesting software to use for simple presentations. The software is also good for collaborative projects as it is based on the concept that the entire project is on one canvas as opposed to slides. When you present it zooms in and out of the canvas which is an interesting concept but might get distracting and might not be good for more structured information. It is cloud-based which is helpful as well as including many different themes for an aesthetically pleasing presentation experience. https://prezi.com/
I think that 3D printers holds a big promise for education by allowing students to see how concepts in their mind can come to life relatively easily. It could be utilized in an art classroom by allowing students to create art digitally and then seeing it physically before them. It can also be utilized in an engineering class to provide customized models and prototypes for inventions.
