Blog Post #2

I've mostly used Microsoft Word for writing papers and doing school projects. I've seen my teachers use it for creating handouts, tests and project assignments. Fairly versed in Word but I am learning that there many more functions in this software that I was not even aware of.

In high school copyright and fair use was not something I was taught much about. In college, it could not be preached more to avoid plagiarism and copyright infringement at all costs. I've had to learn how to give credit to sources and citing them when necessary. As a teacher I would make sure to have a good understanding of all fair use guidelines to avoid having any issues and explain to my students why it's important to not take credit for another's work.

Previous to this class I had only used twitter for receiving updates to my phone regarding certain company rewards programs. In this class I can see how twitter can be used for much more like connecting students, parents and teachers for purposes such as assigning work, reminders or just posting useful links and information. I think that personal learning networks have a great advantage that can further improve the educational system and how teachers and parents also can remain connected about the student's education.
